On World Health Day 2025, Dr. K G Jayan delivered a compelling address at an event organized by H for H and the Government Hospital Paravur, emphasizing the need for proactive preventive healthcare. He noted that while chronic conditions like heart disease and cancer remain major concerns, other illnesses also severely impact various organs, making prevention critical. Dr. Jayan stressed that everyday habits - such as maintaining a proper diet, ensuring adequate sleep, and engaging in daily physical activity - are essential for good health.
He recommended at least six hours of sleep each night and 30 minutes of exercise daily, even without access to parks or gyms. He also highlighted the importance of drinking enough water and avoiding self-medication or overestimating one’s health. "Health is true wealth," Dr. Jayan reminded the audience, emphasizing that good health is more valuable than material wealth, as even a minor illness can disrupt daily life.
The event, focused on the theme "Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures," called for greater awareness and action to improve long-term well-being.
