H FOR H Unit in Medical Colleges
The H FOR H units is medical college campus will be able to service the following roles within overall plan of H FOR H;
- Lead safety awareness activities in the college itself, reviewing key issues and providing training as needed
- Take part in H FOR H lead ‘Safe Campus’ training sessions across the state
- Participate in the Health Camps being organized by H FOR H
In addition, subject to the interest of the students, such student volunteers may engage in other activities which H FOR H has an interest but currently not active in, such as;
- Occupational health studies in local occupations
- Environmental health studies in areas where there are concerns about pollution.
What H FOR H Can Provide to the Medical School Volunteers
H FOR H will be able to provide the following support to the student members who wish to volunteer for H FOR H;
- Orientation on H FOR H as well as community health volunteering
- Training on Safety Risk Assessment
- Training on Occupational and Environmental Health Studies
- Opportunity to be engaged in training activities and health camps
- Certificate of participation in the events
- Support for community health research activities
What H FOR H will be expecting from the Medical College
- H FOR H will be expecting the management, teachers and students of the medical college to commit to the following when they consider being part of the H FOR H network;
- Assign a faculty member to lead the student volunteers as the liaison point with H FOR H
- Provide permission to the faculty and students to participate in H FOR H activities so long as it fits within the academic curriculum and calendar
- Access to training facilities in case training is conducted within the campus
- At least 10 students should be signed up to initiate this activity
